On Team and Enterprise you create and manage devices on the dashboard's Devices page with Add device. There are two types, and a device's type cannot be changed later. Both types carry a visibility choice: who in the workspace can see the device and its recordings.
You can edit a device later: rename it, reassign a member device, change a shared link device's role or change who can see it.
Member devices
A member device is assigned to one member. That member signs in to the desktop app with their account, and signing in connects every device assigned to them. The member's workspace role must include the Record permission, or the device cannot record. No link or key is ever shown for a member device; a member with no assigned device is told to ask a workspace admin for one.
Shared link devices
A shared link device is paired with a link instead of a sign-in, so it suits machines no single account owns. You give it a name and a desktop-only role, and the dashboard shows a one-time pairing link of the form fusedframes://connect/....
The link appears once. Copy it, or email it to the person setting up the machine, then open it on that computer; the desktop app takes it from there. You can also paste it into the app's Use a pairing key field.
If the link is lost, choose New pairing link from the device's row menu. You get a fresh link and the old one stops working.
One device on Individual
The Individual plan includes one device and has no dashboard. Signing in to the desktop app creates the device, and there is nothing to manage.
Active and archived
A device is either active or archived. Archiving disconnects the device: it stops recording, billing stops and its data is kept. You can unarchive at any time, and unarchiving a shared link device gives you a freshly rotated pairing link so you can pair the machine again.
Deleting is different. It permanently deletes the device and all its recordings, and cannot be undone.
API keys created in the desktop app are tied to the device that created them and stop working if that device is archived or deleted. See Authentication.
Device billing
Device billing depends on the plan. Team includes two devices, and each extra device is billed monthly for the time it is active. Enterprise has no included count: every device is billed on a graduated per-device scale, against a monthly minimum. See pricing for current rates.
